ICAEW Visits Camphill MK to See Community Trikes Transform Residents’ Lives
Representatives from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) visited Camphill Milton Keynes today to see first-hand the positive impact of two adapted trikes donated to the charity for use by its residents.
The trikes were among 25 bicycles and tricycles built by ICAEW staff during a team-building and community engagement event held in June this year. The initiative saw employees come together to assemble cycles for schools, charities and community organisations across Milton Keynes.
Camphill MK was delighted to receive two of the specially adapted trikes, which are already helping residents enjoy greater independence, physical activity and access to the charity’s beautiful rural setting.
During today’s visit, ICAEW staff met residents, observed the trikes in use and took part in photographs celebrating the success of the partnership. The visit provided an opportunity for donors to witness the tangible difference their contribution is making to people’s health, wellbeing and quality of life.

The initiative also marked ICAEW’s involvement with Cycling Citizens MK, a partnership working to encourage and support cycling across the city.
At the Milton Keynes Mayor’s Cycling Awards and Festival of Cycling celebrations, ICAEW highlighted its commitment to supporting local communities through the donation programme, with Camphill MK among the organisations selected to receive cycles.

We are delighted that the trikes are supporting people to enjoy the benefits of cycling and outdoor activity.”
Camphill MK supports adults with learning disabilities, autism and other support needs, providing opportunities for meaningful work, social connection and personal development within a vibrant community.
The partnership demonstrates how local organisations can work together to create lasting benefits for people across Milton Keynes.
