Join us for a cycling adventure across Milton Keynes’ parks and green spaces on Sunday 19th April at 9am\, starting from Campbell Park Pavilion. \nThis isn’t your normal Sunday spin — it’s a longer\, more technical ride designed for slightly more experienced cyclists who enjoy a challenge! Together\, we’ll take on a guided group ride through trails\, bridle paths\, Redways\, and hidden woodland routes that showcase the very best of MK’s great outdoors. So\, grab your hybrid\, gravel\, or mountain bike\, gear up\, and get ready for some muddy\, scenic\, off-road fun! \nMeeting point: Campbell Park Pavilion\nWhat3Words location: bravest.detergent.redeemed\nCost: Free — no booking needed! Just show up and ride.\nDistance: Around 30km (19 miles)\nTime: Approx. 2–3 hours \nExperience level: Intermediate to advanced — expect a mix of terrain\, perhaps some mud\, and plenty of adventure. \nRoute highlights: We’ll be weaving through the Ouzel Valley\, Loughton Valley\, and even some of MK’s ancient woodlands — all linked by trails\, bridleways\, and the occasional Redway or road section. Conditions may be slippery and muddy\, so come ready for a proper trail challenge! \nWhat to bring: \n\nA suitable bike (gravel\, MTB\, or sturdy hybrid) in good working order\nHelmet – we recommend that you should wear a cycle helmet that conforms to current regulations\, is the correct size and is securely fastened\nParticipants should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and exercise\nDrinks/snacks – there are no cafés or toilets at the start point\nAny tools / pump / spares you’d bring in a normal ride\nA sense of adventure and a love of exploring!\n\nYounger riders (anyone under 18) are welcome with an accompanying adult and must be capable and comfortable with the distance. \nOur friendly\, experienced team will be on hand to help with any last-minute tweaks or questions before we set off. \nAccessibility information: If you need any accessibility support or have questions about adapted bikes or handcycles\, please contact us at events@theparkstrust.com. This ride is less accessible than our normal Parks and Ride events due to the different terrain. \nDon’t miss out on this lovely ride through MK’s parks and trails. As well as the exciting races\, a wide range of bankside entertainment\, food stalls and fun activities guarantee a fabulous day out for all the family! \nDragon boat racing is the fastest growing water activity in Britain today – as well as the most fun! Up to 10 people paddle each 30’ boat with a drummer at the front beating time and our helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required\, just plenty of team spirit! \nThe Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival is mainly aimed at corporate groups who are looking for a great team building day out whilst supporting and raising money for Brain Tumour Research. Upon entering\, you can choose to upgrade your entry package to include a donation to Brain Tumour Research or you can simply raise funds in your own way!

DESCRIPTION:We’re holding the city’s first ever\, family-friendly Midsummer Festival\, where we invite you to celebrate the summer solstice with a fun-packed FREE programme of music\, maypoles\, magic and more. \nFamously\, Midsummer Boulevard is aligned with the path of the sun at summer solstice\, which in traditional folklore is celebrated on the night of 23 June. On Sunday 23 June from 10am to 10.30pm\, Midsummer Boulevard East will be transformed into Festival central for a free event inspired by traditional midsummer themes of renewal\, healing\, and health. \nA music tent\, street theatre\, and folklore-inspired art will entertain alongside free making workshops. Fantastic pop-up street food curated by Sophie etc will be available throughout the event. As they gather a crowd\, they’ll perform other-worldly ceremonies and tell stories of impossible migrations filled with music\, song\, and shadow puppets. (Expected timings: noon-12.30pm and 4pm-4.30pm.)\nHip Hop maypole mavericks Folk Dance Remixed will perform their genre-breaking mix of maypole\, clogging\, breakdance and more. (Expected timings: 11am-11.30am and 3pm-3.30pm\, each followed with a creative workshop.)\nMake your own suncatcher or flower crown\, design your own tarot card and taste the delights of locally foraged Solst-iced Drinks in the wellness workshop tent – timings for individual sessions tbc. Also visit the tent for face painting.\nThree MK based artists will take over Porte Cocheres for improvised music and dance in response to midsummer. In ‘Natural Magic’ by Thomas D Gray and Effie McGuire Ward\, musicians and dancers will respond to sunlight and shadow with three performances over the day. ‘Midsummer Mischief’ by Rost Productions and No Outcome Art takes inspiration from the city’s tradition of welcoming new settlers\, as well as being home to magpies – who have an important magical tradition in folklore. Large magpie puppets will roam the Festival site\, gathering materials for their Porte Cochere nest. Working with natural dyes and harnessing the power of the sun\, artist Ciara Callaghan will transform a Porte Cochere with LITHA – an immersive artwork which tracks the movement of the sun as it filters through large-scale cutwork embroidery.\nFire Leap With Me’ by Carole Keating includes a very special ‘fire-jumping’ ceremony (traditionally those who make it across will enjoy good health throughout the year) where the artist’s ‘fire pit’ features paper logs and hand-painted flames built in collaboration with the audience.\nThe Music Tent will host a fantastic programme throughout the day with local folk duo Drywood performing a selection of traditional folksongs\, as well as a new song specially written for the Festival. In the afternoon\, SOULstice will offer a platform for local musicians to share their summer inspired tunes. As the sun slowly begins to set\, experimental music network Outlands will take over with an electronic and acoustic set from 6pm\, showcasing an incredible line-up of contemporary folk music with Stick in the Wheel\, Benedict Drew and Arianne Churchman. A spoken word performance by Luke Pendrell/Ludd Puca completes the evening performance programme.
